New in Batch Publish: watermark, error report and a more robust export
The Batch Publish module received four improvements. You will find the settings on the Publish tab of the settings.
1. Watermark on your PDFs. Turn on Watermark on PDF and the text you set (default PRELIMINARY) is stamped diagonally across every page of the exported PDF in semi-transparent grey. This happens as a post-processing step on the PDF; your source drawing is left untouched. The setting applies both to a full batch and to a single PDF export. If stamping fails for any reason, the export itself does not fail - the error is only logged.
2. A failing document no longer aborts the batch. If exporting one file hits an error, the batch simply continues with the rest. Afterwards you get a summary: Batch export finished, but N document(s) failed, listing the names of the files that went wrong (the first fifteen). That way you know exactly what to check, instead of a half-filled export folder with no explanation.
3. Tidier interface and safer previews. The sections in the window are collapsible with a chevron (^/v), so you only see what you need. The document thumbnail previews in the list are now written to the Windows temporary folder (temp) instead of the C: root. That C: root is often not writable on managed workstations and kept growing unnoticed.
4. Clear message without a Vault client. On a machine without an Autodesk Vault client, Batch Publish used to silently refuse to open; the button appeared to do nothing. Now you get a clear message Batch Publish could not start, noting that a missing Vault client is the most likely cause.
