What this tool does

The Print button sends the active drawing straight to the right printer or plotter. Which device that is depends on the drawing's paper size, Thundercad automatically chooses between your small-format printer and your large-format plotter.

Optionally you map each Inventor size (A4…A0) to a different paper size, for example, to print an A1 drawing on A3 office paper.

How to use it
  1. Open the drawing you want to print.
  2. Click Print. Thundercad determines the right printer and paper based on your settings.
  3. The print comes straight out of the device.

Scale strategy

How drawings are scaled when printing.

1:1, print at the drawing's own sheet size
No scaling: A2 on A2, A4 on A4. For pixel-perfect production documents.

Switch to the mapping table, handy when you still want to print large drawings on A3.

Printer (small-format)

Classic setup: A4/A3 on the printer, A2/A1/A0 on the plotter. That saves paper and delivers the right size immediately.

No color output wanted? Set both devices to Black & white.

Changed your printer in Windows? Press refresh in the Print settings to reload the list.
