What this tool does
Documentation Status walks through every component of your assembly and shows, in color, the status of the drawing, PDF, DXF (sheet metal only) and STEP: present, outdated or missing. The status is a comparison of file dates — nothing is opened or changed during the scan. You create missing documents directly with the right mouse button.
How to use it
- Open an assembly and click Doc Status. The tool scans all components.
- Read the colors: green = up to date, orange = outdated (older than the model), red = missing. The DXF column shows a dash for non-sheet-metal.
- Select one or more rows and right-click for Create drawing, Create PDF, Create DXF (sheet metal) or Create STEP.
- Exports go to the Batch Publish export folder. The tool rescans automatically, so new files turn green right away.

What the tool looks at
Documentation Status reads existing files; it creates nothing itself unless you request it via the right-click menu.
Drawing
Looks for an .idw or .dwg next to the model. Status: up to date / older than model / missing.

Searched in the Batch Publish export folder and next to the model. Status: found / outdated / none found. DXF for sheet metal only.

With Export CSV you write the entire overview (status and file paths) to a file for your documentation check.

Vault users run Get from Vault first, otherwise drawings that only exist in Vault are wrongly counted as missing.
