What this tool does

Batch Open opens, in a single step, every document related to your active document. From a part you open the associated drawing in one click; from an assembly you open all drawings or all children below it in one action.

The tool appears as a dockable panel on the right in Inventor and remembers your last choice, so the second time takes just one click.

How to use it
  1. Open a part, assembly or drawing in Inventor.
  2. In the Thundercad tab, click Batch Open. The dockable panel appears on the right.
  3. Choose what you want to open: parents (the assemblies this part belongs to), children (parts below an assembly) or drawings (the drawings).
  4. Check the desired files in the list.
  5. Click Open. All selected documents are opened in Inventor.

The General settings define which drawing format is opened by default.

File type: .idw
Open only Inventor drawings (.idw).

File type: .dwg
Open only AutoCAD-compatible drawings (.dwg).

Open both .idw and .dwg when both exist. Handy in mixed environments.

The panel remembers your last filter and selection, so switching between drawings/parents/children is fast.
