What this tool does
Auto Balloon balloons a drawing view in one click: one balloon per component, attached along the nearest edge of the view, evenly spaced and with leaders that do not cross. Intended for assembly drawings with a parts list.
How to use it
- Open a drawing and, on the Drawing ribbon (Tools panel), click Auto Balloon. Without an open drawing, Open a drawing first appears.
- Select the view you want to balloon; the tool prompts Select a drawing view.
- The balloons are placed right away: one per unique part, along the edge and evenly spaced, with leaders that do not cross.

Distance from the edge
By default the balloons are placed about 2 cm outside the edge of the view.

Spacing
At least about 1.4 cm center-to-center along the edge, so balloons do not overlap.

By default each unique part gets one balloon, not each instance.

Tips
💡
Works best on an assembly view with a parts list: the balloons reference the item numbers from the BOM.
💡
You can also have Auto Balloon run automatically with Auto Drawing Creator via the Auto balloon (assembly drawings) option.
