What this tool does
With Property Rules you define which iProperties must be filled in, which values are allowed, and what gets filled in automatically. The rules are enforced on save. The option is off by default; turn on Enforce property rules on save to activate it. The rules are shared per project in DesignData\{merk}\PropertyRules.xml, so the whole team works with the same set.
How to use it
- Open Settings → Property Rules and turn on Enforce property rules on save.
- Click Add rule and pick the property under iProperty (standard or custom).
- Turn on Required to make the field mandatory, optionally enter a semicolon-separated list under Choices, and pick None, Today, UserName, FileName, or Mass under Auto-fill.
- Restrict with Applies to to All, Parts, Assemblies, or Drawings and click Save rules.

Tips
💡
If you cancel the prompt for the required fields, the save is blocked — that way a document without the required properties never ends up in your project.
💡
Because the rules live in DesignData, the whole team automatically works with the same set.
