Drawing Updater

Sync styles, title block and border with your standard template.

What this tool does

Drawing Updater copies styles, title blocks, borders, parts list style and revision block style from a master template into the active drawing. This keeps all your drawings looking consistent, including old drawings you reuse later.

For each element you can choose whether it should be overwritten. For example: refresh the title block and styles, but leave the existing border in place.

How to use it
  1. Open the Thundercad settings and go to Drawing Updater.
  2. Select your template drawing (.dwg or .idw) via Browse….
  3. Choose the default style, title block and border from the template.
  4. Turn on the toggles for what you actually want to refresh (title block, styles, border, parts list style, revision block style).
  5. Open a drawing to update and click Drawing Updater in the ribbon. The tool applies the configuration.

Make sure your template has a fixed location (for example on a network share), that keeps all users in sync.
